In the upper left part of your screen you will be able to see a panel with the points you currently have in Darryl’s House. Under here you have two numbers: the first one is the quantity of furniture items you have of the same kind as the tab, and the second number is the maximum counted furniture items of that kind that will be taken into account when summing up your decoration points. The maximum amount will depend on whether things are chairs (max of 9), tables (max of 3), wardrobes (max of 6), beds (max of 2), kitchen (max of 3) and bathroom (max of 3).
When you have reached the maximum number of objects of a type that you can have in your house and you add one more, the object with the highest value will be counted, and the one with the lowest value will stop being counted. So, for example if you have 9 chairs already of different values, that is the maximum counted, and you add one more chair worth 5 decoration points, this will start counting and the one with the lowest value, for example, 2 decoration points, will no longer be taken into account. In this hypothetical case, decoration points would only increase 3 points, not 5, as the chair worth 2 points is not being counted anymore.
